• Partner with the Park Manager to oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and support strategic planning.
• Hire, train, schedule, and guide seasonal staff and volunteers to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental standards while maintaining high visitor satisfaction.

• Be a visible and welcoming presence for park guests, promoting safety and inclusivity.
• Build meaningful partnerships with community organizations, volunteers, and local stakeholders.
• Lead educational and interpretive programs that celebrate the park's natural, cultural, and historical significance.

• Collaborate with the maintenance supervisor to care for trails, facilities, and campgrounds.
• Support conservation initiatives and sustainable use of natural resources.
• Help manage park fees, reservations, and special use permits with integrity and accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in park management, natural resources, recreation, hospitality, environmental studies, public administration, or a related field; or
• Associate's degree in park management, natural resources, recreation, hospitality, environmental studies, public administration, or a related field, plus two years of progressively responsible relevant experience; or
• Five years of progressively responsible relevant experience in park operations, natural resources management, recreation, conservation, hospitality, public service, military education or training, or a related field; or
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the work.

• Demonstrate the ability to provide effective customer service and interact professionally with visitors, employees, volunteers, partners, and the public.
• Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Two or more years of leadership, team management, or supervisory experience, including experience leading staff, volunteers, projects, programs, or daily operations.
• Two or more years of customer service or public-facing experience, particularly in parks, recreation, conservation, hospitality, retail, public service, or a similar service-oriented environment.
• Possess a North Dakota Peace Officer License or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire. The training required will be provided and funded by the agency.
• Possess a valid North Dakota driver's license or obtain one within six months of hire.
• Be willing and able to live on-site in park-provided housing as required by the position.
• Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, particularly during peak operating seasons.

• Demonstrated experience with park operations, environmental education, facilities upkeep, natural resource management, or community engagement.
• Experience working in a park, recreation, conservation, hospitality, or other visitor-focused environment.
• Experience coordinating or supporting special events, educational programs, community activities, or public outreach.
• Experience working with diverse groups of employees, volunteers, visitors, community members, or agency partners.
• Experience applying policies, procedures, safety standards, or regulatory requirements in an operational setting.
