iMMAP Inc. is an international non-profit organization that provides technical support and capacity development services to stakeholders engaged in Mine Action. Through our work, we assist national authorities, humanitarian demining operators, and coordination bodies in strengthening their ability to plan, implement, and coordinate Mine Action activities effectively. Our core philosophy is that better data leads to better decisions and that better decisions lead to better outcomes.
iMMAP’s critical support to information value chains helps to solve operational and strategic challenges of our partners in both emergency and development contexts by enabling evidence-based decision-making for better outcomes.
Considering the scale and complexity of mine contamination in Ukraine, with approximately 137,000 km² remaining potentially contaminated and over 5.4 million people in need of mine action assistance, an effective, coordinated, and data-driven mine action response is critical. The programme seeks to strengthen information management capacity within Ukraine’s key Mine Action institutions through four strategic pillars, including Capacity Building and Training.
In this regard, the Capacity Building Coordinator will lead the Capacity Building team in designing and delivering tailored, mine action-specific training in information management, GIS, data validation, data analysis, and data visualization, with a particular focus on operational workflows and reporting requirements specific to the mine action sector. Priority technical areas include ArcGIS, QGIS, Power BI, advanced Excel, including scripting, Google scripting, and data transformation processes.
The role also entails maintaining and further developing strong relationships with colleagues across various iMMAP. projects and relevant national and regional Mine Action partners to support capacity building and knowledge management, as well as planning towards the implementation of capacity strengthening work plan.
