Assistant Chemist

The Assistant Chemist uses analytical skills in performing specialized lab tests at our factory.

Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• In the absence of the other lab personnel, including the Factory Chemist, this position ensures required lab tests are performed and results recorded. May perform tests and record results.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lab and maintain all laboratory records.
• Prepares and standardizes solutions.
• Responsibility for sugar and by-product analysis.
• Performs routine lab maintenance, including troubleshooting and basic repair and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
• 4 Year College Degree in Chemistry, Biology or related science, to include two years of chemistry.
• Valid Driver's License
• Must be able to reference, read and understand how to use MSDS information.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively to direct and supervise lab personnel.

$34.26 - $34.26 /hr
