Cable Technician II-III - Artificial Lift

Job Duties

* Under direct supervision, receives, tests, prepares, and repairs downhole cable for submersible pumps and motor equipment for use in the field.

* Receives cable from field or manufacturer and carries out tests to ensure proper function in the field.

* Performs grounding tests, locates bad spots, and makes repairs.

* Will splice additional cable if required on a motor lead and add to surface cable.

* Conducts weekly inventories on all cable in the yard and complete necessary paperwork.

* Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.

* Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.

Qualifications

* Requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.

* Minimum of six months experience, preferably as a Cable Technician I.

* The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.

* Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.

* Basic computer skills are preferred.
