Position Description
A Crew Lead oversees the production and safety of a group of employees which may include but not limited to a welder, welder’s helper, crane operator and swamper.
Essential Job Functions- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English
- Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of Lock Out/ Tag Out process
- Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to complete task like Evacuating, Trenching, Line Finding, Dig Alerts, and Energy Control
- Ability to utilize Stop Work Authority (SWA) when appropriate
- Ability to complete all KSI and Customer required training
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to recognize and use hand and power tools including pipe benders
- Ability to demonstrate basic construction safety rules
- Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods at a time
- Knowledge of pipe sizes and fitting as well as thickness of material required
1-2 years of industry experience along with knowledge of tools and equipment.
Physical & Mental RequirementsWorking Conditions:
The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.
Working Hours:
Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-10’s and weekends. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
