Diesel Mechanic

Pay: $25 - $35 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40–45 per week

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will maintain and repair diesel engines in various vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include everyday general maintenance on diesel semi trucks such as clutches, transmissions, brakes, drivetrain, suspension, DOT inspections, wiring, and more.

• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues.
• Inspect and test engines to identify problems.
• Use power tools to disassemble and reassemble engine parts.
• Fabricate parts as needed for repairs.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues.
• Perform chassis-related jobs such as transmission and clutch work, differential and drivetrain work, wiring, brakes, suspension, etc.

• Proficiency in tractor-trailer maintenance.
• Experience with power tools for engine repairs.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques.
• Ability to fabricate parts using various tools.
• Skill in interpreting schematics for troubleshooting.
• Background in heavy-duty diesel repair for semi trucks.
• Experience operating a bobcat for moving heavy parts.
• Diesel engine repair: 5 years (preferred).
• Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (preferred).
