Fleet Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspensions, and other components.
- Upfit new vehicles with accessory upgrades.
- Perform DOT vehicle and trailer inspections
- Conduct vehicle inspections and document maintenance activities.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve problems.
- Ensure all repairs comply with company standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Respond to road calls and emergency repairs as needed.
- Manage parts inventory and communicate parts requirements.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience as a fleet, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment mechanic.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of modern vehicle repair, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair procedures.
- Strong electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred
- ASE Certifications or equivalent technical certifications.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Experience working on commercial vehicles and off highway diesel equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
