Horace - Feed Mill Maintenance Technician
In the Feed Mill Maintenance Technician role, you are responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Horace Feed Mill. The role ensures all personnel, safety, Safe Feed/Safe Food, quality standards, and GMP requirements are followed while maintaining and repairing mill equipment and facilities. Responsibilities also include managing larger repair projects, supporting preventive maintenance efforts, maintaining knowledge of computer‑controlled processes, and participating in ongoing training as directed by the Feed Department and Safety Director.

Salary
$20-$28 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures
- Follow all Safe Feed/Safe Food guidelines
- Responsible for Quality Standards and GMP’s of all feed manufactured
- Maintain and repair Horace Feed Mill
- Facilitate & manage repair projects requiring additional Equity and/or external maintenance support
- Acquire and maintain knowledge and understanding of the computer-controlled processes
- Demonstrate an ability and commitment to development and execution of a preventive maintenance program
- Attend training as directed by Feed Dept. & Safety Director
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a good driving record
- Ability to troubleshoot advanced mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues
- Background in mill production or agriculture is preferred
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with management
- Has a self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills
Work Environment
While performing daily duties the employee will be working near moving mechanical equipment, in outside weather conditions, and may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally works in high precarious places. Peak seasonal periods require extended hours. Must be available for emergency breakdowns (nights, weekends, and holidays).
Travel
The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Effingham Equity trade area.
