The Service to the Armed Forces Specialist at the American National Red Cross supports active-duty members, veterans, and their families through compassionate, mission-driven services. In this role, you coordinate emergency communications, provide case management, and connect clients with vital resources. You'll collaborate with military commands, VA, and community partners while leading outreach events and briefings. Working in a hybrid, community-based setting, you'll engage volunteers, respond to crises, and uphold Red Cross humanitarian values of service, inclusion, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and case management services to active-duty members, veterans, and military families.
  • Coordinate emergency communications between service members and their families.
  • Educate military communities on Red Cross services, resources, and referral options.
  • Collaborate with base commands, VA, and community partners to deliver assistance programs.
  • Organize outreach events, briefings, and workshops on installations and in communities.
  • Maintain accurate client records, reports, and documentation in case management systems.
  • Assist with crisis intervention, resource navigation, and referrals to counseling or financial aid.
  • Support disaster and emergency response activities affecting military communities.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers assisting Service to the Armed Forces programs.
  • Ensure services align with Red Cross policies, confidentiality standards, and military protocols.
