Position: TRAFFIC MANAGER with Security Clearance
Location: Grand Forks Air Force Base

Duties
* Plans, organizes, supervises, and oversees the activities and employees of the Deployment and Distribution Flight.
* Plans and directs all cargo movement traffic management functions and passenger travel and personal property shipment and storage activities for the installation and DoD assigned area of operation.
* Directs the small air terminal cargo and passenger operations.
* Responsibilities in readiness, mobility, and deployment operations include providing technical direction, and management and evaluation of the transportation, traffic management, and unit movement aspects of the DoD transportation movement program on a worldwide basis.
* Plans and directs all Transportation functions of cargo movement operations, traffic management functions andpassenger travel and personal property shipment and storage activities for the installation and DoD assigned areaof operation, whilst serving as the Installation Transportation Officer Requirements Conditions of employment
* U.S. Citizenship Required

* Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
* Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Work may occasionally require duty in warehouse or receiving areas.
* Work may require travel to commercial carriers in the local vicinity of the installation for the purpose of contract negotiation.
* The employee must be appointed as Transportation Officer or Traffic Management Officer by the Installation Commander as required by the Defense Transportation Regulation 4500.9R.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
* This is a Centrally Managed position in the Logistics Career Field * "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement. Qualifications Conditions of Employment Continued :
* The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")
* This position is a "Key" position. It cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without impairing the capability of the organization to- function effectively. Unless an alternate can be designated to perform the duties of this position during wartime, the incumbent of this "Key" position must be screened from military recall status. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Traffic Management Series.

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
