RahrBSG is looking for a Logistics Manager/Dispatcher to join our team in Hillsboro, ND. The Logistics Manager/Dispatcher coordinates drivers, trucks, trailers, routes, and freight activity to provide prompt, professional, and efficient service. This position plays a key role in maximizing equipment utilization, supporting customers and internal partners, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring safety, regulatory, insurance, and preventive maintenance requirements are met.

- Dispatches trucks and drivers using the most efficient routes to move products safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.
- Creates and maintains logistics files to track changing loads, routes, driver schedules, and delivery timing.
- Communicates load assignments, routes, product requirements, and schedule changes to drivers.
- Coordinates with growers, elevators, customers, and internal partners to schedule product pickups and deliveries at mutually workable times.
- Reviews contracts and load requirements to ensure the appropriate truck size and equipment are assigned for barley, feed, byproduct, and freight hauls.
- Collaborates with Byproduct Sales to develop efficient routes for byproduct trucks.
- Works with outside brokers and carriers to identify freight opportunities, keep trucks loaded, and maximize revenue.
- Calculates freight rates, reviews fuel surcharges, and works with customers to support mutually beneficial hauling arrangements.
- Reviews and signs driver paysheets for the prior week and ensures supporting information is accurate.
- Monitors all aspects of maintenance for Rahr Direct trailers, including routine service, repairs, tire needs, and annual Minnesota Department of Transportation inspections.
- Schedules and routes trailers through the maintenance shop with minimal downtime and follows up with repair and tire vendors as needed.
- Maintains required documentation for each trailer and ensures records are complete, current, and readily available.
- Monitors owner-operator insurance coverage to ensure policies remain current and provides certificates of insurance to companies when requested.
- Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery, pickup, equipment, and customer service issues before they result in service disruptions.
- Receives reports of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage and promptly directs information to the appropriate insurance, safety, and management contacts.
- Ensures incident reports include relevant details, such as where, when, how, and why the incident occurred; injuries; equipment involved; insurance status; and brokerage agreement status.
- Monitors and reinforces safety procedures at Rahr and customer facilities during loading and unloading activities.
- Ensures Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). state, and local regulations are followed along with all company expectations.
- Maximizes capacity by ensuring productive use of equipment and drivers.
- Reports driver performance issues, concerns, or disputes to appropriate management for resolution.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information and developing alternative solutions when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business and operational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Experience working with transportation and supply chain systems.
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of transportation and logistics principles and operations.
