Part Time Facilities & Maintenance Assistant

Reports To: Community Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Part Time, includes weekends

Position Summary: The Facilities Assistant supports the overall upkeep, cleanliness, and functionality of the community’s common areas and amenities. This role combines janitorial, porter, and event setup responsibilities to ensure residents and guests enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of all community common areas, including clubhouses, restrooms, fitness centers, pools, offices, and outdoor spaces.
  • Perform daily porter duties such as trash removal, surface cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing high‑touch areas.
  • Assist with room and facility setups and breakdowns for resident events, meetings, and community functions (tables, chairs, AV equipment, decorations, etc.).
  • Monitor and restock janitorial and restroom supplies as needed.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and light repairs (changing bulbs, replacing filters, tightening fixtures, etc.).
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the Facilities Manager or Community Manager.
  • Ensure community guidelines and safety standards are upheld at all times.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to residents, guests, and staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in facilities, janitorial, maintenance, or hospitality preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service mindset.
  • Must be available to work weekends.

Work Environment: This position involves regular physical activity and may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors throughout the community property.
