- Provide clinical care for clients at DOH‑Lee sites, including acute health conditions, reproductive health visits, STD assessments, health counseling, and referrals.
- Develop and review health histories, select orders and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures such as Papanicolaou smears, cultures, wet mounts, urinalysis, blood counts, and imaging studies.
- Diagnose and treat minor, acute, and ambulatory conditions such as vaginitis, PID, STDs, and other reproductive health conditions.
- Counsel, order, and manage contraceptives, including placement and removal of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and sub‑dermal implants; provide counseling on mistimed pregnancies and safe sex practices.
- Consult with physicians and specialists regarding difficult cases; promote health habits and refer clients to hospital and community agencies as needed.
- Complete mandatory training, attend team meetings, and initiate professional development opportunities.
- Prepare biweekly leave/attendance records and daily employee activity records (EARs).
- Assist with PrEP, nPEP, and Test‑and‑Treat implementation; provide education and mentorship to staff; attend in‑services and meetings on behalf of service expansion.
- Participate in orientation and staff development of personnel assisting with patient care; serve as resource for primary care and communicable disease information.
- Perform phlebotomy, assess vital signs, conduct educational seminars, and respond to disaster assignments.
- Work before, during, and beyond normal hours as required; evenings, weekends, and outreach events may be required.
- Handle confidential health information in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and department policies—the position is classified as sensitive.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, techniques & procedures.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation & grammar usage.
- Knowledge of standard business formats & styles for letters & business forms.
- Skill in performing uncomplicated surgical procedures.
- Skill in operating a personal computer.
- Ability to administer prescribed medications.
- Ability to perform complete physical appraisals of patients.
- Ability to identify and evaluate illnesses.
- Ability to initiate diagnostic laboratory tests and evaluate the results.
- Ability to manage patient care.
- Ability to work with patients having a variety of physical problems.
- Ability to compile and evaluate medical histories and other clinical and laboratory data.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.

- Certification as an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
