Job Description:

The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School Community is recruiting a transformative classroom teacher. Wintergreen was named a School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America. The vision at Wintergreen is "to provide all students with a safe and nurturing environment that immerses each student in the arts, grounds them in restorative behaviors, and engages their minds to ensure academic and personal success".

Grade level teams work collaboratively to plan out content and to build skills that support the examination of themes throughout each subject area. Teachers who have a professional background in the arts, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and/or STEAM education would be a great addition to the program. Must have a passion for literacy instruction.

Successful candidates must possess strong teaching qualities, care deeply for children and have good classroom management and interpersonal skills.

* Experience teaching 6th grade students and a proven record of accomplishment of instructing diverse learners desired.

* Endorsement: CT State Certification 013, 305 or 229 required
