Position: Full-Time Faculty: School of Medicine

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University invites applications for multiple full-time faculty positions in the Department of Medical Sciences, an integrated basic science department at the core of our innovative medical education curriculum.

As a member of this collaborative and student-centered faculty, you will help shape the first two years of our systems-based, integrated pre-clerkship curriculum—working closely with colleagues to design, deliver, and continuously evolve an educational experience that prepares future physicians for complex, real-world practice.

We seek educators and scholars who are passionate about teaching, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These are full-time (1.0 FTE), benefits-eligible, on-ground positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience. For clinical faculty, reduced FTE appointments may be considered to support ongoing clinical practice, consistent with qualifications and departmental needs (Please include your FTE expectations in your cover letter).

While candidates with the ability to teach broadly across the curriculum are encouraged to apply, particular interest will be given to individuals with expertise in:

  • Endocrinology
  • Infectious Disease/Immunology
  • Public/Population Health

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing medical school, contribute to an integrated and forward-looking curriculum, and make a meaningful impact on medical education and student success.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach across the pre-clerkship curriculum using a variety of instructional modalities, including large-group and small-group teaching, problem-based learning, team-based learning, case-based learning, simulation, and asynchronous/online formats.
  • Design, integrate, and assess curriculum in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with program objectives and current best practices in medical education.
  • Contribute to curricular innovation, including the development of novel instructional methods, technology-enhanced learning strategies, and assessment approaches.
  • Advise and mentor medical students in academic development, professional identity formation, and career exploration.
  • Engage students in scholarship, including evidence-based medicine, educational research, or clinical/translational projects, and mentor student capstone or scholarly projects.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with clinical and basic science faculty to ensure horizontal and vertical integration of content.
  • Contribute to the clinical curriculum as appropriate and aligned with expertise.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university service, including committees, working groups, and accreditation-related efforts.
  • Demonstrate ongoing professional development in medical education, with a commitment to growing as a master educator over time.
Education Requirements:
  • MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant biomedical, clinical, public health, or health professions education field required.
  • A minimum of three years of Graduate Medical Education training is preferred for clinically trained applicants.
Qualifications:
  • A record of excellence or high potential in teaching at the health professions or graduate level.
  • A strong interest in teaching and curriculum development within an integrated pre-clinical program.
  • A commitment to functioning as a career educator within a collaborative academic community.
  • Interest in innovative educational methods, including active learning, educational technology, and programmatic assessment.
  • Evidence or strong potential for scholarly and creative activity, particularly in education, biomedical science, or clinically relevant domains.
  • A demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence, learner-centered education, and mentorship.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines in a community-based academic medical environment.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time faculty and staff which includes tuition remission and a culture that is inclusive and driven by excellence.

Quinnipiac University is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful community.
