Overview
Quinnipiac University’s School of Health Sciences invites applications for a full‑time, 12‑month, Clinical Professor (Open Rank) of Social Work. The successful candidate will serve as a principal faculty member with primary responsibilities in teaching and advising in the on‑campus and/or online program formats along with service. Candidates are expected to be on campus for a minimum of three days per week.
Licensed social workers with relevant experience and qualifications are encouraged to apply. The expected start date will be August 2026.
- Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Quinnipiac University, the School of Health Sciences, and the Department of Social Work.
- Teach courses across the generalist and specialized MSW curriculum in online and/or on‑campus formats, based on program needs.
- Advise and mentor MSW students, including monitoring academic progression, professional development, and competency attainment.
- Participate in all department‑required faculty activities, as well as department, school, and university service.
- Participate in student recruitment and program events.
- Perform additional related responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Associate Director of Online MSW.
- Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited institution in the United States.
- Minimum of two years post‑MSW social work practice.
- MSW or BSW online (asynchronous, synchronous) and in‑person teaching experience.
- Social Work State Licensure (LMSW/LCSW).
- Willingness to develop and build MSW courses.
- Doctoral degree in Social Work or a closely related field from a regionally accredited U.S. institution.
- Demonstrated experience teaching in MSW programs across modalities, including online (asynchronous and synchronous) and in‑person formats.
- Experience designing and developing online MSW courses using Canvas or comparable learning management systems.
- Proven ability to support student success through advising, retention strategies, and academic support in both online and in‑person environments.
- Leadership experience at the academic program or departmental level.
- Strong interest in higher education leadership, including active engagement in program development and academic administration.
- Experience serving as lead or coordinating faculty, including mentoring and supporting part‑time or adjunct instructors.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable teaching, learning, and professional practice environments.
- Record of scholarship and/or creative work, with emphasis on social work education, pedagogy, or related areas.
