Occupational Therapy Department Graduate Assistant

Responsibilities:
  • Selected candidates will be assigned to one of the following primary roles, however with the expectation that the roles may shift based upon departmental needs over the course of the academic year:
  • Clinical Anatomy & Kinesiology Lab (Fall)
  • Applied Neuroscience Lab (Fall)
  • OT for Children and Youth Lab (Fall & Spring)
  • OT for Adults & Older Adults II Lab (Spring)
  • Technology in OT Practice Lab (Spring)
  • Support to department/faculty with administrative duties and scholarly endeavors.
  • 2 events each semester (i.e.: Open Houses, Admitted Students Day, panel presentations, or guest lectures) that will require weekend hours (Saturday or Sunday).
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be an Occupational Therapy Graduate student who has completed 30+ credits of the OTM or OTD professional level courses in our curriculum.
    • Must have reliable transportation to the North Haven Campus.
    • Strong ability to assume professional position of mentorship on behalf of other OT students following their OT path of study.
    • Excellent time management skills to meet both academic and GA expectations weekly.
    • Expressed desire to actively partake in the teaching earning process on behalf of student success & or the pursuit of research and other scholarly endeavors.
    • Strong ability to complete faculty-assigned tasks given distant supervision.
    • Lifting up to 20lbs as necessary.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • CGPA of 3.7 or above on their graduate level transcript.
    • Prior experience in teaching earning (ie.: tutoring, camp couselor, etc.) & or scholarship.
Hours of Position:
  • To be determined based on selected student schedule and department needs.
