Metal Fabrication Productivity Specialist – North Haven, CT. Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. seeks a specialist with deep knowledge of welding and fabrication processes to serve as a technical advisor and commercial partner. In this exempt role you will identify productivity opportunities, recommend optimized welding solutions, and support customers in improving throughput, quality, and cost efficiency across their fabrication operations. Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required to support customer schedules, onsite evaluations, and business needs.

Pay Range: $ – $, depending on experience.
Responsibilities- Conduct detailed onsite assessments of customer fabrication processes, welding procedures, consumable usage, and workflow efficiency.
- Identify productivity improvements through optimized gases, consumables, welding parameters, automation readiness, and process standardization.
- Deliver technical product demonstrations, performance evaluations, and competitive comparisons.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to support territory strategy.
- Develop value‑based proposals that quantify cost savings, throughput gains, and quality improvements.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations teams to align solutions with customer requirements.
- Support additional technical and commercial initiatives as needed.
- Lead the full sales cycle for automated capital equipment including robotics, welding automation, CNC automation, and material handling systems.
- Perform onsite evaluations to identify production bottlenecks and automation opportunities.
- Create ROI models, cost‑benefit analyses, and productivity improvement justifications for capital investments.
- Provide system walkthroughs, automation demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
- Work with engineering teams to design system configurations, layouts, and integration plans.
- Associate degree in welding technology or similar (required);
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. - 7+ years of outside sales experience, ideally in welding, fabrication, or industrial equipment.
- Strong technical understanding of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW), shielding gases, consumables, and fabrication workflows.
- Prior industry experience required.
- Welding Inspector or Welding Educator certification preferred.
- Proven negotiation and value‑selling skills.
- High integrity and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to build trust, influence decisions, and collaborate across teams.
- Results‑driven mindset with strong accountability.
