Interim HR Manager

An established, multi-location organization is seeking an experienced HR Generalist / HR Manager to step into a highly visible interim role supporting day-to-day HR operations during a period of transition and change.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, supporting employees and managers directly, and bringing structure and follow-through to a busy HR function. The ideal candidate can comfortably move between employee support, leave administration, benefits, compliance, onboarding, and HR process improvement without losing sight of the details.
What You’ll DoManage and track FMLA and other employee leaves, including intermittent FMLA and coordination with workers’ compensation when applicable
Oversee workers’ compensation cases from initial reporting through return-to-work and closure
Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for employees and managers, answering questions and providing guidance on policies, benefits, leaves, timekeeping, and HR processes
Support new-hire onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and related documentation
Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, qualifying life events, employee questions, and communications
Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS information, compliance documentation, and personnel files
Identify HR process or compliance gaps and help strengthen workflows, documentation, and consistency
Support employee relations matters through documentation, information gathering, and appropriate escalation
Partner with Payroll, Finance, managers, and leadership on employee changes and HR-related needs
Coordinate required training, safety documentation, and HR compliance tracking
Support recruiting activities, interview coordination, background checks, offer documentation, and new-hire paperwork as needed
Assist with employee communications, engagement initiatives, policy updates, and HR projects
Help keep HR operations organized and moving forward during a broader departmental transition
Strong HR generalist background; 7+ years of HR experience is preferred
Hands-on experience with FMLA/leave administration and workers’ compensation
Benefits administration experience
Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and HR documentation
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Comfortable operating independently while knowing when to escalate sensitive or complex matters
Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

SharePoint experience
Experience supporting a multi-location, distribution, industrial, field-service, or similarly fast-paced organization
