Stord is looking for an Area Manager with strong communication and organization skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities- Support the execution of all processes and procedures related to inventory accuracy.
- Perform warehouse bin accuracy and maintain inventory shrink.
- Utilize Order Management System and various types of material handling equipment.
- Lead and develop a team of warehouse associates and operations leads to deliver on daily goals.
- Work closely with support staff (HR, Safety, Customer Service, Other Ops Leaders) to drive results.
- Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
- Implement process improvements and workload efficiency mechanisms.
- Utilize workload planning tools and other resources to complete scheduled workload and ensure orders are fulfilled to meet standards.
- Investigate discrepancies and variances.
- Perform to quality standards in multiple functions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two to four years’ experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory systems in a high-volume facility.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
- Basic clerical and data entry skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and support teams.
- Can transport up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Attention to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Can build solid, effective working relationships with others.
- Can constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
- Can effectively use relevant material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts).
- Can express ideas clearly and convey necessary information.
- Can work in a distribution center environment that includes exposure to varying heights, temperatures, and moderate consistent noise levels.
- Can work occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen).
