Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
A Day in the Life
In this role, you will support the production and maintenance of equipment used in the Needles Laser Drill process area. This role focuses on mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, assembly, and quality verification to help ensure reliable manufacturing processes. The technician will collaborate with engineers and cross functional teams to maintain equipment performance and support continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
This is a fully onsite position based in North Haven, CT, where in-person collaboration is essential to supporting our manufacturing operations and delivering life-changing therapies.
Responsibilities:
- Devise, fabricate, install, test, and repair mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components in the manufacturing area.
- Install, repair, and upgrade components of mechanical devices and systems used in manufacturing processes.
- Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for machinery and production equipment.
- Support engineers in developing and implementing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of manufacturing devices and systems.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control tests and procedures to verify equipment functionality and process performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues within manufacturing equipment and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow established procedures, documentation requirements, and safety practices within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities and equipment improvements to support operational efficiency.
- Document work performed, test results, and equipment changes in accordance with quality system requirements.

- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical systems or manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, procedures, or assembly instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with engineering and production teams.
- Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing technology, mechanical technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, or similar).
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly, fabrication tools, or laser-based manufacturing equipment.
- Experience performing equipment troubleshooting, testing, or validation activities.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
