Mechanic A
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the duties outlined below.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble
- Diagnoses equipment failures and provide recommendations for proper repair course of action
- Dismantles devices to remove and replace defective parts, Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
- Ensures that all equipment complies with OEMs and Regulatory Agencies operating standards
- Ensures proper equipment lubrication in compliance with OEMs lubrication schedule
- Administers Preventive Maintenance program from computer system, Follows Preventive Maintenance Work Order procedures
Job Qualifications:
- Technical school preferred.
- 3 years minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working conditions/physical demands:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
