Salary: $25 - $40 per hour
A bit about usWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fire apparatus and emergency vehicles. This role involves working on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and specialty emergency systems in both shop and field environments.

Job Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and drive trains
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services (PMs)
- Repair and rebuild fire pumps, valves, piping, and water systems
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and aerial components
- Perform 12-volt electrical diagnostics, repair, and replacement
- Conduct brake, suspension, steering, and chassis repairs
- Service HVAC and auxiliary vehicle systems as needed
- Complete pump testing and operational checks
- Perform on-site service calls using mobile service units when required
- Accurately document repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements
- Fire pumpers, aerials, rescues, tankers, and ambulances
- UTVs and specialty emergency vehicles
- Diesel engines, fire pumps, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience working on fire apparatus or emergency vehicles preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- EVT certification or willingness to obtain preferred
- Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
