Pay & Schedule
- Hourly Pay: $22.75
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday;
Weekends off - Hours:
3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Second Shift)

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Proficiency in written and verbal English
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly (preferred)
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Professionally represent Ryder and engage employees and customers
- Excellent time‑management and priority‑setting skills
- Good attendance and performance track record
- Strong sense of personal accountability and proven results
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Beginner knowledge of machines and tools, and shop management systems (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Regulated tech position requirements (see below)
- Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
- Move heavy‑duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or deliver to rental shop
- Wash and detail vehicles manually or using automated equipment; fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles properly while adhering to shop safety policies
- Record fuel activity and maintain proper fuel and DEF inventories and reconciliation
- Perform multi‑point inspection on inbound units (check tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, and more)
- Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards; perform minor facility maintenance as assigned
- Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments, which include
- Service Island Training: multi‑point inspection, vehicle fueling and washing, environmental safety & spill response, safe driving, organization & cleanliness (6S)
- Technician I Training: preventive maintenance, tire and wheel, service bay tools
- Technician II Training: HD electrical, air and hydraulic brakes
- Perform other duties as assigned
