Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Automation & Drives

A day in the life in North Haven, CTWhen the plant comes alive each morning, you’re the steady hand that keeps production humming. You’ll walk the floor, listen for the telltale hiss of a pneumatic leak, review maintenance logs, and prioritize the day’s work. One hour you’re tuning a variable frequency drive to stabilize line speed; the next you’re swapping a hydraulic component, inspecting guards for safety, or helping commission a new piece of equipment.

You partner with operations to solve problems quickly and leave clear documentation so the next person has what they need.

What you’ll do Maintain and repair industrial machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.

Diagnose mechanical issues, then implement effective, lasting fixes.

Inspect and test machines for performance, reliability, and safety compliance.

Collaborate with peers to streamline processes and boost efficiency.

Record maintenance activities and repairs with accuracy and clarity.

Uphold safety protocols and keep a clean, orderly work area.

Assist with installation and startup of new equipment when needed.

What you bring

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.

Hands-on experience as an industrial mechanic or closely related role.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Sharp troubleshooting skills and keen attention to detail.

Clear communication and a collaborative mindset.

Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime when required.

Physical ability to stand and climb; bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Core strengths

Pneumatics and hydraulics (systems, components, and troubleshooting)
Preventive maintenance and inspection best practices

Commercial electrical aptitude; electrical/electronic systems

General maintenance and repair, including basic welding
