Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
The General Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in coordinating multiple construction projects across geographical regions to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency at a world‑class level. This role serves as a key liaison between superintendents, engineers, and project managers, while overseeing personnel, resources, and inter‑project operations.
Responsibilities- Coordinate field personnel needs and staffing across multiple projects
- Oversee resource allocation, including equipment, tools, and materials
- Support hiring efforts, onboarding, and workforce training
- Maintain relationships with union halls and attend pre‑construction meetings
- Ensure projects are organized, properly staffed, and meeting safety standards
- Manage equipment logistics, including rentals, trucking, and inventory tracking
- Monitor project schedules, costs, and performance to meet or exceed targets
- Troubleshoot construction challenges and implement solutions
- Drive adherence to planning processes and company procedures
- Conduct safety meetings and enforce safety compliance
- Evaluate field personnel performance and recommend improvements
- Support subcontractor qualification and coordination
- Communicate regularly with leadership and project teams
- Foster strong morale among teams, subcontractors, and partners
- Ensure client satisfaction and alignment with company objectives
- High school diploma or GED required
- 10+ years of experience in construction, concrete, or marine industry
- Strong knowledge of project management systems (scheduling, cost control, estimating)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proven leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job and Heavy Bid preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Willingness to travel extensively (50–60 hours/week expected)
