Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Job Title: Systems Engineer – Clean Tech & Energy Systems
Location: North Kingstown, RI (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are an innovative clean energy technology company seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to own the system-level architecture of our proprietary Electrochemical Generator systems. In this role, you will define how complex subsystems interface and manage the critical inputs and outputs that tie them together.
You will work directly across multi-disciplinary engineering teams—including electrical, mechanical, automation, reliability, and scientific research—to ensure our hardware and process technologies perform as an integrated whole. This role reports directly to the Head of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Requirements: Define and maintain system-level architecture, operational requirements, and interface specifications.
- Interface Management: Specify and manage system inputs/outputs across electrical, mechanical, chemical/process, and control subsystems, with an emphasis on power, instrumentation, and control interfaces
- Integration & Verification: Lead integration, traceability, and validation efforts at the system level; develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for major system boundaries.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate cross-functional design reviews and systematically resolve complex system-level trade-offs.
- Deployment Support: Actively support the physical integration, commissioning, and verification of both pilot-scale and commercial systems.
Qualifications
- Education: BS in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline (MS preferred).
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant engineering experience managing system-level requirements and multidisciplinary subsystem integration.
- Technical Depth: Proven experience managing inputs/outputs for complex hardware, including electrical interfaces (power, instrumentation, and controls).
- Tools: Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools is highly desirable.
- Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen or US Legal Resident.
