A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline. AIS is looking for an Offshore Operations Support Specilaist to support an ongoing offshore wind construction project.

Primary Function:

It serves as the primary coordination point onboard a vessel, ensuring safe, efficient execution of offshore operations through logistics coordination, contractor interface management, and operational planning. The Offshore Operations Support personnel will be stationed offshore during 24-hour operations and will be assigned a 12-hour watch daily. The position is anticipated to be needed from August 2026 through February 2027 and would involve 28 days on, 28 days off rotations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary onboard point of contact for coordinating contractor and operational activities.
  • Coordinate vessel schedules, including personnel transfers, crew changes, and offshore logistics.
  • Work closely with the Offshore Site Manager to implement project policies and maritime regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate daily offshore construction activities.
  • Liaise between offshore technicians, vessel crews, marine coordination teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Minimize operational conflicts through proactive coordination with project packages and contractors.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, interface meetings, and contractor kick-off meetings.
  • Monitor compliance with project procedures, offshore management systems (OMS), and IT tools.
  • Ensure personnel meet offshore access requirements and maintain personnel forecasts.
  • Assist with Personnel on Board (POB) lists and verification of offshore certifications.
  • Track and coordinate offshore cargo movements, including required declarations to agents and authorities.
  • Maintain an active safety presence onboard and promote compliance with HSE requirements and PPE policies.
  • Support HSE initiatives, including investigations, safety campaigns, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in project lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the Offshore Site Manager with operational and administrative tasks as required.
  • Prepare and maintain operational deliverables, including:
    • Daily coordination and execution plans
    • Vessel and helicopter performance reports
    • SOMS training documentation
Compensation:

Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on candidates' depth of experience. This is a full-time position. AIS benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of vessel and personnel logistics in dynamic offshore environments, with preference to experience in offshore wind farm operations.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have current GWO courses:
    Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling
  • Must have BOSIET/HUET training.
  • Must have current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must be certified by a physician as fit for sea duty via OGUK including:
    • Not be susceptible to chronic motion sickness
    • Ability to live in confined quarters
    • Ability to tolerate stress
    • Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds
    • Ability to vigilantly monitor waters surrounding observation platform/vessel for up to 4 hours at a time and not more than 12 hours in a 24-hour period.
  • Must have current Chester Step test.
  • Must have proof of eligibility to work within the US
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience coordinating vessel and personnel logistics in dynamic offshore environments.
  • Offshore wind experience preferred.
Travel:
  • Travel is required.
  • Travel is reimbursed at an hourly rate along with compensation for travel expenses to the mobilization location will be provided.
