Composite Technician
At REGENT, we're on a mission to revolutionize regional transportation between coastal cities. We're not just building vehicles, we're creating a new category of transportation: the Seaglider. These groundbreaking wing-in-ground-effect craft travel just above the water's surface, combining the speed of an airplane with the low operating costs of a boat. Capable of 180 miles at 180 mph on today's battery tech (and up to 400 miles with next-gen batteries), Seagliders will unlock fast, affordable, and sustainable coastal transit for passengers and cargo - connecting cities, islands, and communities like never before.
Backed by leading investors and powered by a team of passionate, forward-thinking engineers, builders, and operators, we're now scaling from a breakthrough prototype to full production - and building the team to make it happen.
What You'll Do- Fabricate, assemble, and integrate composite vehicle parts, following precise build procedures like prepreg lamination, vacuum bagging, and infusion. Interpret engineering drawings, communicate process updates, and provide prototype feedback.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including design, manufacturing, and reliability engineering, to facilitate efficient part manufacturing and ensure compliance with project timelines and budgets.
- Provide advanced technical support in the assembly, design, and maintenance of structural components. Troubleshoot complex systems and processes, ensuring high-quality build standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety within the team and participate in safety training initiatives.
- Implement and execute quality assurance protocols to ensure all products meet industry standards. Conduct inspections and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes, inspections, and maintenance activities. Prepare reports and contribute to technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering to develop processes, build techniques, tooling, and implement efficient lamination, cure, and trim practices. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Mentor and train fellow technicians in composite fabrication practices, leading small teams in project tasks to promote skill development and team efficiency.
- Advanced and professional experience in a hands-on composite manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or marine industry
- Ability to modify and repair infused and prepreg carbon fiber composite structures, cored structures, and local reinforcements
- Proficiency in reading and understanding detailed ply layups, schematics, technical drawings, manuals, and reports
- Ability to provide engineering with feedback on build process and manufacturability
- Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments, gauge blocks, lasers, gravity measurement techniques, and working with metrology specialists
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to rapidly changing roles and responsibilities in a high-paced, challenging work environment
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work assignments and environments
- Must be able to work extended hours on-site, including weekends, and be flexible with shift work (1st or 2nd shift).
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for short and extended trips as needed.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing or sitting for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Collaborative Team Player: You believe that great things happen when teams work together. You communicate effectively and collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to align on goals and move projects forward. You bring people together, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and moving towards a shared vision.
- Creative Problem Solver: You thrive on tackling complex challenges and finding innovative solutions. Whether you're resolving installation challenges, debugging elusive electrical issues, or adapting on the fly during integration and test, you bring a practical, inventive mindset to…
