Purpose:
Supervise the daily activities of Refrigeration mechanics for both service and preventive maintenance for all Refrigeration and HVAC systems for 30 to 50 stores. Qualify and hire outside contractors as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Supervise a group of refrigeration technicians for service in 30 to 50 retail store locations.
- Provide training and guidance to all assigned refrigeration technicians, 5 to 8 for each specialist.
- Provide stores with timely service and accurate diagnosis of related HVACR problems.
- Train store associates as needed in BAS interrogation procedures and emergency response practices.
- Work closely with Refrigeration Manager on any ongoing service and maintenance issues.
- Offer solutions for design and maintenance related problems.
- Coordinate outside service vendors and review bills for service repairs.
- Coordinate winterization checks for vacant real‑estate locations.
- Work with Refrigeration Manager for assigned stores yearly budgets.
- Support refrigeration dispatchers and advise on high volume service days and any unique service problem.
- Advise and help train refrigeration dispatchers on BAS systems and upgrades.
- Assist Refrigeration Manager with qualifying refrigeration and mechanical contractors.
- Oversee new and remodel retail construction projects and offer solutions to problems.
- Provide technical support to Project Managers during construction projects.
- Help Refrigeration Manager manage repair costs and measure against budget forecasts.
- Control, to the best of their ability, refrigerant losses and manage documentation for EPA compliance.
- Work closely with Store Managers and inform them of any major repair or problem.
- Provide 24 hr. service for assigned retail locations.
- Attend District Managers meetings, answer questions, offer suggestions and explain service contracts.
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
- High School diploma
- Seasoned knowledge of all aspects of supermarket refrigeration and HVAC
- Strong technical/mechanical knowledge and background in HVAC
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organizational skills
- Strong supervisory skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Team oriented individual
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $86,320 - $129,480
Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
