Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipbuilding Planner & Scheduler to oversee production planning and shop floor operations within a marine manufacturing environment. This pivotal role involves coordinating schedules, tracking progress, maintaining project data, and supporting engineering and production teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimizing workflow and ensuring seamless project execution in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules for multiple projects.
  • Coordinate shop floor activities and monitor ongoing production progress.
  • Generate, update, and close work orders efficiently.
  • Track labor hours and evaluate project performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate planning and cost tracking systems.
  • Analyze production efficiency and prepare detailed performance reports.
  • Support engineering teams by coordinating work packages and project timelines.
  • Prepare and present planning reports and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct data analysis to enhance scheduling accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and project management teams to ensure alignment and project success.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Planner, Scheduler, Production Planner, or Project Controls professional.
  • Preferred background in shipbuilding, manufacturing, fabrication, heavy industrial, or construction sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with MS Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Preferred experience in shipyard or marine construction, production scheduling, shop floor control, manufacturing operations, and project reporting.
  • Relevant certifications or additional technical training are a plus.
