Join a growing Rhode Island shipyard where your planning and scheduling expertise will directly influence production performance, project timelines, and successful vessel construction.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Marine Production Planner & Scheduler to maintain project schedules, support shop-floor operations, track labor and work orders, and provide the production team with accurate information needed to keep complex marine projects moving forward.

- Experience in production planning, scheduling, or shop-floor control
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
- Ability to maintain detailed schedules, reports, work orders, and labor data
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
- Willingness and physical ability to work throughout an active shipyard
- Ability to comply with PPE, safety, vision, and color-recognition requirements
- Shipbuilding or marine manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
- Maintain and regularly update production schedules based on engineering requirements, project priorities, and shop-floor progress
- Generate, track, and close work orders while confirming project hours and completion data
- Enter and audit daily timecard information to maintain accurate labor and project-cost records
- Produce and analyze internal reports that identify project progress, labor usage, schedule concerns, and weekly efficiency
- Establish required dates for engineering work packages and communicate potential scheduling conflicts
- Prepare accurate project information and supporting materials for planning and scheduling meetings
- Investigate discrepancies within planning, labor, and cost-tracking systems and follow issues through resolution
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to keep schedule data aligned with actual work being performed
- Shipbuilding, ship repair, defense manufacturing, or heavy industrial experience
- Experience supporting multi-phase manufacturing or construction projects
- Knowledge of production-control and cost-tracking systems
- Experience evaluating labor efficiency and schedule performance
- Familiarity with work packages, engineering milestones, and shop-floor reporting
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, filters, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Ability to identify scheduling risks and recommend practical solutions
- Self-directed work style with strong follow-through and attention to detail
