QC Chemist
We're excited to offer a QC Chemist opportunity at our North Kingstown, RI facility, where we manufacture high-purity chemicals and solvents as part of the semiconductor industry supply chain. As a QC Chemist at our chemical manufacturing facility serving the semiconductor supply chain, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality through precise testing and analysis. You will work closely with manufacturing teams to provide critical quality checkpoints that support consistent, reliable production.

Job DescriptionWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Coordinate and perform analysis on incoming, in‑process, and final product samples. Testing is conducted in designated Quality Control (QC) laboratories and serves as critical quality checkpoints throughout the manufacturing process.
- Review and audit test results, batch records, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Apply statistical tools to validate quality data and confirm alignment with established guidelines and specifications.
- Utilize all aspects of the quality system, such as Non‑Conformance Material Reports (NCMR) and Internal Corrective Action Requests (ICAR) to identify, classify, and control the status of products. This includes both written and electronic methods for analysis, tracking, and record retention, supporting validation across manufacturing and quality processes.
- Perform and maintain routine calibration, light maintenance, and upkeep of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and standards. This may also involve coordinating external service calls as needed.
- Provide training to team members on relevant functions upon certification, contributing to a more flexible and versatile team environment.
- Manage projects and conduct training related to Gage R&R studies, test method development, procedure writing, and Manufacturing Flow Testing (MFT) process flows. This work supports process improvements, cost reductions, and cycle time efficiencies.
- Adhere to general housekeeping standards, including the proper handling and disposal of process waste, to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry required
Experience
- 1‑2 years of analytical laboratory experience
- Exposure to chemical manufacturing, semiconductor or other highly regulated industries is preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Familiarity with quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001) preferred
- Fundamental understanding of test method development and validation
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and GPC
- Proficient in data analysis and algebra; experience with Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools
- Strong adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Strong attention to detail in data collection, input (e.g., LIMS), and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong troubleshooting ability
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and problem‑solving skills in a dynamic environment
- Advanced computer skills (performing transactions and navigating within document control, ERP, and LIMS systems)
