Laboratory Technician (Entry Level)

Eurofins Environment Testing America is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. This full-time entry level position is Monday - Friday 12:30pm- 9:00pm. Candidates living within a commutable distance of North Kingstown, RI are encouraged to apply. Compensation $18-20/hour (depends on experience) plus eligible for benefits.

This is an entry level position, those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4 year degree encouraged to apply.

Essential duties and responsibilities include retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis, performing sample preparation, resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled, preparing general laboratory paperwork, washing laboratory glassware, stocking laboratory supplies, cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment, and assisting other laboratory areas as needed.

The ideal candidate would possess comfortable with a fast paced time sensitive laboratory, ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts, ability to use TALS, ability to complete work within time and quality constraints, can work independently following written or verbal instructions, and cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing.

Able to follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines: organic preparation, metals preparation and analysis, gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, radio chemistry, wet chemistry, high resolution preparation and analysis, low resolution preparation and analysis.

Basic minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, high school Chemistry coursework preferred, basic laboratory experience preferred, previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines), ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice, professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English, and perform other duties as assigned.
