Job SummaryThe Senior Account Manager maintains and grows relationships with existing customers and cultivates new business opportunities. They are responsible for developing account management strategies, coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet customers' needs, and identifying opportunities to grow accounts and profitability.
Duties/Responsibilities- Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests products to meet those needs.
- Develops and implements strategic plans to manage and grow accounts.
- Trains and educates distributors on product benefits and technical issues.
- Assists distributors in sales efforts including making joint sales calls.
- Provides superior customer service and ensures customer satisfaction.
- In conjunction with the marketing team, develops marketing programs and promotions to increase sales and/or introduce new products and services.
- Maintains knowledge of market, competition, and best practices and trends in sales techniques and strategies.
- Ensures customers understand pre-season and promotional pricing programs.
- Acts as company representative at trade shows; this includes setup and breakdown of booth and evaluating the effectiveness of the show.
- Communicates and coordinates with internal teams to deliver solutions.
- Attends sales training and conferences as needed.
- Processes sales orders from customers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop and cultivate long-term customer relationships.
- Highly organized and solution-oriented.
- Thorough understanding of company’s products and/or services, and those of immediate competitors in applicable markets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize.
- Ability to multitask and complete work while traveling.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Five or more years of related experience required.
- Experience selling lubricants and fuel additives to customers in the heavy-duty automotive sector strongly preferred.
- Experience managing large accounts preferred.
- Customer portal experience (Amazon) preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to trade shows and customer sites; up to 25% of time may be spent traveling.
