Journeyman Electrician SECOND Shift

The Electrician will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of electrical systems and associated processes.

• Regular attendance at assigned location; may include A/Z office or other project site;
• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring;
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit, using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender;
• Oversees or participates in wire installation with conduit and cable trays;
• Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools;
• Connects power cables to equipment, such as motors, and installs grounding leads;
• Tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope;
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement;
• Performs other routine duties as directed by workplace leader, electrical panels, and standby generation;
• Avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes, redlines drawings, and completes documentation with as-found and as-left conditions;
• Maintains strict adherence to safety rules and quality;
• Participates in site housekeeping;
• Interacts with co-workers in an attentive, courteous manner;
• Additional duties as directed by management.
• Industrial work, will entail testing, troubleshooting and repair of line voltage and control circuits, rigid conduit installation/repair, possible medium voltage repair work

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
• 3 years of field experience, trade school or apprenticeship;
• Appropriate state journeyman license;
• OSHA 10 certification.

Compensation
: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
