Maintenance Technician 1
Reports to:
Facilities Supervisor
Purpose:
Responsible for general maintenance and providing a safe and clean work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values.
- Facilitates minor repairs and installations.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance.
- Completes work orders as assigned.
- Ensures timely completion of unit turnovers.
- Maintains property and landscape including grass cutting, trash and snow removal.
- Provides superior customer service.
Experience and
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical or building trade education helpful.
- One year maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of electrical, painting, plumbing, and carpentry required.
- Well organized, able to prioritize own work.
- Quick learner interested in expanding knowledge and experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team builder who inspires and motivates others to perform their best.
- Can work effectively independently as well as a member of a team.
- Commitment to task-is tenacious, can achieve results in an environment when priorities change quickly.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
- Ability to work in an environment in which the job is performed, such as working in hot, cold, dusty, etc. conditions.
Electrical Knowledge:
- Replace light bulbs
- Smoke and CO detectors – testing
- Emergency lighting (Batteries) testing
- G.F.C.I. testing
Plumbing Knowledge:
- PVC
- Replace faucets
- Clear traps and drains
- Repair leaks
Carpentry Knowledge:
- Repair windows
- Repair doors
- Repair flooring
Tools Knowledge:
- Skill saw
- Drill
- Hand tools
- Ladders
