Job DescriptionThe Transportation Planning and Performance Analyst
-Inbound is responsible for optimizing inbound freight operations at Ocean State Job Lot’s Distribution Center (“DC”). This involves strategic planning, execution, and analysis to ensure efficient use of drivers, equipment, and third-party carriers. The analyst will develop transportation strategies to enhance service levels, productivity, and cost-efficiency, ensuring compliance with all standards.
- Plan and optimize inbound transportation using TMS and other tools.
- Monitor container flow to reduce costs and penalties.
- Improve service times, route efficiency, and equipment utilization.
- Resolve invoice and contract discrepancies.
- Provide excellent service to stakeholders including stores, drivers, and carriers.
- Maintain strong relationships with partners.
- Communicate operational updates effectively.
- Generate reports and analyze performance metrics.
- Identify process improvements and cost reductions.
- Track and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Align transportation strategies with company goals.
- Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in dispatch and transportation operations.
- Familiarity with transportation management software.
- Ability to work in a climate-controlled distribution environment.
- Office work at a computer for extended periods.
- On-call availability for dispatch coverage, with some weekend work during peak seasons.

The salary range is $58,000 - $72,000, commensurate with experience.
