The Receiver role within the Distribution Center of Ocean State Job Lot receives merchandise into the Warehouse Management System using a radio frequency scanner in a manner that meets established standards in safety, quality, and productivity. Additional responsibilities include unloading trailers and containers, using powered equipment, ensuring items are inspected for damage and verified against worksheets while noting any discrepancies.

• Accurately complete and submit daily productivity sheets.
• Receive and sort merchandise into warehouse inventory with real‑time RF scanner to facilitate reporting of shortages, overages, and damages.
• Verify accuracy of freight by inspecting samples of each product.
• Ensure pallets are properly built with no overhang or height restriction violations.
• Work in compliance with standard operating procedures, audit‑control procedures, and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean work space to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards.

• Prior experience is welcomed but not required; specific in‑job training will be provided.
• Successful completion of equipment operations training in alignment with OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA, federal and state regulations preferred.
• Ability to operate industrial powered equipment and obtain required licensing.
• Physical ability to unload merchandise and operate an RF scanner.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to meet area productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping and attendance standards.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for a team environment.

• High‑volume distribution center with extreme temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
• Work up to 10–12 hours per day, often stationary or moving continuously.
• Responsibilities include lifting, bending, stretching, and reaching; ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Must safely ascend and descend heights of up to 20 feet.

Salary range: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour. Salary varies depending on experience.
