Department:AccountingSUMMARY
A is an entry or min accounting clerk is responsible for maintaining financial records at a business, usually as part of a team. The duties include reconciling bank statements and balancing bank ledgers for regular reports, regulating business logs, organizing financial records, recommending ways to reduce cost, preparing monthly accounts payable/accounts receivable reports and preparing documents for auditing.
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting role.
- Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills.
- Able to prioritize work and succeed under deadlines.
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Communicating internally important feedback from customers.
- Responding to high volume emails.
- Managing account payable.
- Managing accounts receivable.
- Preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High organizational skills and ability to manage several projects at the same time.
- Ability to prioritize own workload.
- Must be detail oriented
- Excel
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to recognize when assistance or additional tools are needed as determined by the type of assignment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSIndividuals may need to sit, stand, walk, kneel and bend as needed. May require sitting for prolonged periods. May require walking on unlevel surfaces periodically throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting weight above 60 pounds on occasion. Always utilizing safe practices. (Estimated percentages for each type of activity;
Standing 10%, Walking 10%, Sitting 50%, Bending 15%, Kneeling 15%).
Duties are performed primarily indoors in an office setting. Uniforms are required to be worn at all times.
