Job Title
Data Research Analyst
Reports ToDirector of Academic Advising
Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and report student and advising data accurately and timely.
- Prepare data and reports for ad hoc requests from Academic Advising and Student Affairs leadership.
- Provide performance analytics and support key processes for the Academic Advising department.
- Track, analyze, and recommend interventions for students needing advising, using metrics indicating a need.
- Generate reports needed for effective decision‑making; mine data from disparate sources; identify patterns and trends that influence student success.
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS or other analysis‑based concentration from a regionally accredited college/university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related professional role.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Oracle People Soft Application (CRM) and experience developing and producing queries in People Soft.
- Skill in collecting, extracting, and manipulating raw data for reporting and presentation.
- Experience with statistical and database management tools.
- Familiarity with operation of a public higher‑education institution.
- Knowledge of SQL and Excel.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics.
- Understanding of best practices related to student success nationally.
- Skill in organization benchmarking and development of organizational metrics.
- Ability to plan and organize activities independently.
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written, including translating technical information to non‑technical personnel.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
- Strong analytical skills: identify problems, translate user needs, convert technical concepts to plain language, and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
