Instructor – Introduction to Education

Faculty positions required to teach Introduction to Education and be actively involved in the primary duties of the course.

• Teach Introduction to Education and provide students with an overview of education.
• Manage student classroom observation hours.
• Meet classes at the scheduled time, place, and length.
• Deliver teaching courses as assigned, correlating with catalog descriptions and course outlines.
• Provide each student at the beginning of each course with a course outline that includes: goals, objectives, content, required and supplementary textbooks, attendance requirements, behavior and discipline requirements, planned examination schedule, field trips or special activities, out‑of‑class assignment policy, evaluation methods and final grade derivation, office hour availability, and appointment procedures.
• Provide information that advises students of all instructor‑established requirements for meeting course objectives.
• Assign courses, days, times, and locations which may vary by semester, including any combination of classroom and online modes, on any of CSN campuses, in any of the morning, afternoon, or evening hours, on any days of the week, including weekends.
• Perform assignments for any courses for which the instructor is qualified.

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, ESL, or another related degree.
• Preference for 3+ years of special education teaching experience.

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Studies, Educational Leadership, or a related degree.
• Preference for 3+ years of special education teaching experience.

Position will be paid $925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
