Part - Time Instructor, Automotive Technology - FY

Automotive Technology Instructor

Responsibilities of a part time Automotive Technology Instructor include but are not limited to:

• Lecture and lab instruction for automotive courses
• Courses range from introduction to automotive maintenance to advanced diagnostics
• Provide lab safety training
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
• Provide advisement to students
• Some program and or curriculum development may be requested
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested
• Automotive courses are taught at the North Las Vegas campus, in-person and are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekend

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Required qualifications:

• Current ASE certifications
• 5 years of experience as a technician in the automotive industry

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate of applied science degree in automotive technologies
• G1 auto maintenance and light repair
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce
• Knowledge in Canvas or other learning management systems

Salary information: $925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.

Schedule:

Automotive classes are scheduled in mornings, afternoons, and evenings, in accelerated 5 week sessions, 8 week sessions, and traditional 16 week sessions.
