Part - Time Senator - North Las Vegas Campus - ASCSN - FY

Job Overview

The CSN Extension Campus Senator is responsible for promoting student life and student initiatives across CSN extension sites, administering programs, and engaging with the student population.

• Serve on at least one ASCSN Standing Committee and two ASCSN Ad‑hoc Committees.
• Attend all required workshops and student development trainings.
• Attend Senate meetings and have authority to approve By‑Law legislation, financial funding items, and, with appropriate majorities, override presidential vetoes.
• Dedicate a minimum of 12 hours per week outside of committee meetings to senatorial programs, student assistance, and campus outreach; up to one‑third of weekly hours may be used to support ASCSN events.
• Deliver a brief presentation to a class each month on ASCSN Student Government.
• Dedicate two working hours each week to promoting ASCSN Student Government and events.
• Work on committee assignments and other senatorial responsibilities as directed by the Executive Board.
• Handle nonfeasance items, report findings to the Senate, and support disciplinary processes.
• Submit a statement of interests at the beginning of each term and maintain it throughout the term.
• Submit proof of enrollment in a minimum of six credits each semester and comply with GPA requirements.
• Prevent removal by meeting attendance and compliance requirements; removal occurs after three unexcused absences in a semester or failure to meet academic criteria.

• Must be a current student enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester.
• Maintain a semester GPA of not less than 2.25.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.50.
• Complete required in‑person training sessions scheduled throughout the year.

$12.95 per hour; exempt, 48.8% FTE.
