Benefits

High Needs Position Sign‑On Bonus: $3,500 paid in two installments (subject to mandatory with holdings).

Qualifications
  • Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in Special Education and hold certification in a content area (e.g., math, science).
  • Ability to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per day.
  • Physical requirement: lift up to 50 lbs with assistance; use arms and hands without restrictions.
Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes following the educational philosophy and policies of the Board of Education.
  • Utilize State and District curriculum guidelines for teaching assignments.
  • Plan and implement programs that meet students’ needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Manage a caseload of special education students.
  • Analyze data from various educational sources to improve instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross‑content instruction and school‑wide collaboration.
  • Participate in IEP meetings for assigned students.
  • Collect and review assessment data related to IEP goals.
  • Promote students’ self‑worth and positive classroom behaviors.
  • Safeguard school property, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all school personnel.
  • Adhere to contract, law, and school policies.
  • Seek professional growth opportunities.
  • Arrive on time, perform all assigned duties during scheduled workdays.
  • Perform other duties as requested by administration.
