Instructor of Graphic Communications
The College of Southern Nevada seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor of Graphic Communications beginning Spring 2027. The Graphic Communications Program prepares students for a career in the design field by emphasizing client- and industry-based practices. The successful candidate will teach five undergraduate courses per semester in the following areas:
- Graphic Design.
- Adobe Creative Suite.
- Motion graphics and UI/UX design.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, New Media, or related field (must be obtained by time of appointment).
Preferred Qualifications:
- College-level teaching experience and/or a record of client-based, industry experience.
- Teaching experience in a college setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in three or more of the following graphic communications areas: typography, digital imaging, visual/design fundamentals, conceptual design, layout design, illustration, print production and prepress, image manipulation, art direction, design history/theory, storyboarding, motion graphics, broadcast graphics, interaction/interactive communications design, instructional design, or related areas.
- Experience with current industry standard tools is preferred, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and comparable applications such as Canva, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine or similar software.
Starting Salary Information:
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master's degree the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years' experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for the initial salary placement purposes.

Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada NFA Contract .
