Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position is $177,000. The salary information is a general guideline only and is evaluated alongside position responsibilities, work experience, education, training, and related skills.

About the Role

Support Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and Advanced Battle Management Systems (ABMS) experimentation efforts.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Coordinate SpOC support to JADC2 and/or ABMS‑related exercises, experiments, assessments, war‑games, and demonstrations to improve awareness of innovation capabilities through application in relevant DoD use cases or event scenarios.
    • Recommend space‑related goals/objectives
    • Develop relevant space scenario(s) and space mission threads
    • Identify required space forces and capabilities (current and emerging)
    • Participate in event planning meetings and conferences
    • Co‑ordinate participation of space forces and capabilities
    • Provide space SME support to planning discussions and/or event execution
    • Participate in events as surrogate space operator(s)
    • Collect, analyze and assess space‑related observations and lessons learned
    • Document the performance of participating space forces and capabilities in an all‑domain environment
    • Identify gaps and shortfalls of space forces and capabilities in an all‑domain environment
    • Analyze activity progress and make recommendations for future events from a space operations perspective
    • Provide recommendations for development and/or improvement of space capabilities and technologies to close JADC2/ABMS gaps.
  • Coordinate SpOC activities with other space stakeholders including STARCOM, SSC, USSPACECOM, designated Combatant Command Space Components, and HQ USSF staff.
    • SpOC support to JADC2/ABMS events may be required as either the lead or supporting space planning activity. When SpOC is designated as the space planning lead, solicit and co‑ordinate any required support from external and subordinate space elements (e.g., USSPACECOM, STARCOM, SpOC Deltas/Squadrons, SSC, NRO).
    • When providing SpOC support as a supporting space activity, support the designated space planning lead to provide planning inputs and co‑ordinate all requested SpOC support from HQ SpOC and its subordinate deltas/squadrons.
  • For participating SpOC forces and capabilities, analyze, determine and coordinate the command and control and data sharing pathways needed with all participating agencies with a focus on implementing/demonstrating/testing machine‑to‑machine connections where possible.
  • Document plans, inputs, activities, recommendations, and out‑briefs in artifacts such as briefings, papers, activity reports and weekly updates, as requested by the government.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • Ten (10) years’ space experience with four (4) years’ space operational‑/strategic‑level C2 experience and three (3) years’ requirements experience, including demonstrated:
    • Proficiency in the following NSDC and JSpOC operations, including JMS; requirements development/CBA/AoA processes; identifying requirements/ acquisition/budgeting process interdependencies; JCIDS process and staffing products
    • Proficiency in application of emerging concepts to system development
    • Knowledge of "Space power Disciplines" and the associated program requirements;
      Orbital Warfare, Space Electromagnetic Warfare, Space Battle Management, Space Access and Sustainment, Military Intelligence, Engineering and Acquisition and Cyber Operations
    • Knowledge of Space Domain Awareness CONOPS/ICD/CDD/CPD/KPPs/KSA/‑KPP
    • Knowledge of operational‑/strategic‑level/STO C2 structures; C2/space control functional/operating/system concepts and new systems concepts development process; UCI/OMS‑Space initiatives; tactical, operational, and strategic C2 operational and development stakeholders
