RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Integrated Air Defense Systems (DIADS) Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) Operator to support the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at Nellis Air Force Base. In this critical role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering highly realistic and challenging threat environments to support Department of War test, training, and tactical rehearsal events.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position involves utilizing the DIADS software to meticulously plan, build, test, and execute complex scenarios integrated within the JSE architecture. During simulation events, the operator will actively manage and maneuver simulated threat systems in real-time. This requires faithfully replicating adversary Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to ensure a rigorous and doctrine-accurate threat presentation.

Additionally, the operator will serve as a Subject Matter Expert, advising test directors, engineers, and mission commanders on adversary SAM capabilities, limitations, and likely operational behaviors. Following scenario execution, the operator will provide critical data and analytical feedback on threat system performance to support comprehensive After-Action Reviews (AARs) and post-mission analysis.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidates will possess a comprehensive, highly desirable knowledge of adversary IADS doctrine, network architecture, sensor capabilities, and inherent system limitations. Prior experience operating DIADS or similar threat emulation software in a tactical, test, or training environment is strongly preferred to ensure immediate operational impact.

Furthermore, the role requires a demonstrated understanding of SAM employment, radar theory, and electronic warfare (EW) principles. Candidates must have experience working within advanced synthetic training architectures or modeling and simulation environments like the JSE. Strong analytical skills are required to accurately interpret scenario requirements and translate them into actionable simulation parameters. Finally, all candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain the requisite Department of War (DoW) security clearance.
