Power Plant Engineering Support
Provides Power Plant Engineering support to day-to-day operations, and maintenance activities. Also, provides technical support for plant asset management.
ResponsibilitiesComplies with all generation department operating and safety procedures.
Prepares annual budgets and spending requirements for maintenance and efficiency improvements of generation facilities.
Provides operating and maintenance standards to improve operating reliability and efficiency of generating facilities.
Coordinates project design with input from station representatives, contractors, and equipment suppliers, in order to provide functional and cost effective solutions for generating unit needs.
Inspects and evaluates generating equipment and process conditions, and prepares forward projections of operating and maintenance requirements to optimize production.
Assures that generation projects are functional, meet the intended design criteria, and are completed on schedule and within budget.
Provides training of operating and maintenance staff as needed at generating facilities.
Improves equipment and systems operating reliability and efficiency through consultation with operating representatives, contractors, equipment and product manufacturers and the application of Engineering principles.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited school in engineering and 1-3 years' experiences with generating plant operations.
Knowledge of generating plant operations, maintenance and training; and knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations. Engineering knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PCs, word processing, analytical tools, spreadsheet and database software.
General office and plant environment at an operating power plant. Some overnight travel required.
