This opportunity is open to transitioning military members only. Non-service members will not be considered for this position. JT4 is partnered with the U.S. Department of War's Skill Bridge Program, which is designed to provide internship opportunities to transitioning military personnel during their final 6 months of service, thus preparing them for a full-time civilian position once they separate. JT4's Skill Bridge Programmer Internship is a unique 60-90 day opportunity for transitioning service members to obtain thorough OTJ (on the job) training from JT4's top technical SME's.

During the internship, the service member will be provided a training plan outlining weekly tasks and goals to be accomplished. The goal of the internship is to prepare the transitioning service member for a full-time Field Engineer role e examples of required Field Engineer duties and responsibilities are outlined below. Important:
While the program is designed to prepare the service member for a full-time, civilian position, JT4 has no obligation to hire the intern on full-time or to continue the internship if it is determined that the intern does not meet expectations. ABOUT JT4, LLC JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II.

JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Under general supervision of a senior-level engineer, a Field Engineer II performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks involved in the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical information Keep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialty Perform engineering or other highly technical tasks that are varied and may be somewhat difficult in character Plan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculations Support projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared Generate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projects Using computer-assisted test methods, conduct laboratory investigations on equipment or systems Assist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies Prepare, deliver, and submit technical presentations for in-process design and review meetings Perform other job-related duties, as required REQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 7 years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field are required for this position.

In addition, a Field Engineer II must possess the following qualifications:
Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fields Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions Effective verbal and written communication skills Planning/organizational skills OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.

WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards.
